The people of Pallang village in Niani District, Central River Region North, got supported by their representative – the National Assembly Member for Niani Constituency, Hon. Alhagi S.B. Sillah with safe drinking water.

For two months now, “we have been fetching water from our neighbouring village, Pallang Mandinka” says Mamudou Bah, alkalo of Pallang Torro village.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, 19 November, 2017, at his village, during the fixing of the local pump with new parts bought by Hon. Sillah himself towards supporting them with clean drinking water , Alkalo Bah thanked Hon. Sillah for helping them with new parts to fix their local pump.

“This pump is now a new one, because all the parts are new ones” say Alkalo Bah.

Alkalo Bah stated that the local pump is the only local pump in the village which they are using for drinking and other uses.

“Before Hon. Sillah becomes a National Assembly Member; he has been supporting local initiative such as this kind and many other supports,” he said. “It’s because of his good will gesture in the constituency, the people of Niani voted for him and we’re praying for his success, long-life, good health and wealth.”

A native and beneficiary of Pallang, Kumba Saidybah, hailed Hon. Sillah for the kind gesture, adding that Hon. Sillah is someone who cares his peoples.

“He is always with his peoples and visiting places to find out their problems and help solving them,” she said.

“I could recall that Hon. Sillah was passing by the village from Kataba where he saw our pump tide with old cloths, he stopped his vehicle and asked the villagers what was the problem with this local pump? We told him that it got a problem and he promised to fix it.”

“His immediate support is highly welcome and we’re appealing to the government, development partners and philanthropists to help with another pump because the village has only one local pump.”

Amadou Bah, a youth in the village gives thumbs-up to Hon. Sillah, saying that Hon. Sillah is a pragmatic man.

For his part, Hon. Sillah, assured the villagers of his unflinching support, while citing some of the supports rendered such as the Safulu water network distribution with D20,000.00, to Nyangabanta and Pagil Ward for each to organise a football tournament among many other developments issues.
