Criminal trial involving the embattled former officials of the defunct National
Intelligence Agency (NIA) resumed yesterday before Justice Kumba Sillah Camara
at the High Court in Banjul.
The accused persons are Yankuba Badjie, the former NIA DG, Loiuse Richards Leese Gomez, Sheihk Omar Jeng, Babucarr Sallah, Yusupha Jammeh, Haruna Susso, Tamba Mansaray, Lamin Darboe and Lamin Lang Sanyang
They are standing trial on a 26 count charge of conspiracy to commit felony, assault causing grievous bodily harm, conspiracy to murder, murder, making false documents without lawful authority and abduction amongst others.
At the last court sitting, the accused persons took their plea and denied the charges.
Meanwhile, the matter could not proceed yesterday as the presiding Judge, Justice Kumba Sillah Camara, adjourned the matter till 6 and 7 November 2017 for hearing.
