Foundation stone for the construction of a
new therapy complex at the Kanifing General Hospital was recently laid at the
hospital ground in Kanifing. This is apparently the first major project to be
implemented under the hospital’s new current management.
The project is funded by Unomas Foundation; a Spanish philanthropic organization through a Gambian partner Penda Sidibeh.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the laying of the foundation stone, the hospital chief executive officer Kebba Manneh said upon completion, the facility would enhance and improve rehabilitation services for the population and provide convenient working environment to staff.
Facilitator of the project Penda Sidibeh said therapy offers services to individuals and groups to develop maintain and restore maximum functional capacity throughout their lives. She said that include circumstances in which movement and functions are threatening by old age, diseases, disorders or environmental factors.
