The new GRA board chair therefore challenged the staff and management under the supervision of the Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe to endeavor and redo the success of 2018 in 2019 with a view to boost The Gambian economy.

Lucy Faye Jagne was speaking recently while delivering her first speech during the (GRA) 2018 Annual Staff Award and Recognition event held at QCity in Bijilo. The event was meant to reward deserving staff of the Authority.

The GRA board, she went on, will continue to provide the necessary oversight functions and policy direction to ensure that the authority is effective and efficient in delivery of its services to government and its citizenry. “Human resources are key in the development of any nation. Therefore, the quality of human resources is among the top agenda for the management of GRA.”

She added: “GRA will continue to strive in ensuring that it has a committed, motivated and technically qualified staff that will always raise the flag of the authority high. As staff of the authority, we need to come together and thrive to be more organised, educated and disciplined in order to make GRA an exemplary institution.”

According to her, GRA has built an excellent reputation in ensuring that they meet their revenue target. “I want to assure the public that the GRA Board will continue to support its staff to achieve and implement their goals as outlined in your 2015-2019 strategy.”

She described the current performance of GRA as impressive and thus urged them to keep up the momentum.
