The old executive members of the Rotary Club of Brusubi over the weekend handed over to the incoming executive, at a colorful ceremony held at the Coco Ocean Hotel.

Dr Sapard Kalala handed over the mantle of leadership to Mr Sana Jaiteh, the newly-elected president of the Rotary Club of Brusubi, for a period of one year.

In a speech, the outgoing president, Dr. Sapard Kalala, thanked the rotary club members for their support in helping him implement various projects during his tenure.

He also cited numerous developments and collaboration with other club members in the country as well as the support accorded to him by the past immediate district governor.

He also expressed readiness to work with the incoming members.

In his acceptance speech, the incoming president of the Roatry Club of Brusubi, Sana Jaiteh, expressed honour and privilege to serve as the president of the Rotary Club of Brusubi for 2017-2018.

He said the birth of a new club marked an important milestone in the development of the rotary movement in The Gambia.

He recognised the efforts of the charted leaders and members of the Rotary Club of Brusubi for their commitment to a cause that at times seemed impossible to achieve.

According to him, the year’s club activities would take place within the context of priorities as set by RI district and national leaders.

In doing so, he added, the organisation would focus on three strategic areas namely; support and strengthening of rotary clubs, intensify humanitarian action and enhancing the image of the rotary.

This effort must also incorporate national priorities identified by the recently established national steering committee under the chairmanship of Minyan Jobe, he stated.

They would strive to continue to establish a solid foundation to ensure that the club as part of an international services organization, aims to make a difference in The Gambia.
