one day national action dialogue on education organised by Paradise Foundation
was recently held at Paradise Suites hotel in Kololi. The dialogue aims at
bringing solution and recommendation on how to improve education in The Gambia
on the theme: Our education, our future.
Isatou Baldeh, national coordinator of Action on Education said their aim is to support education and health, adding that with the dialogue, they are able to gather stakeholders to talk on education.
She said their objective is to gather information and develop an action plan for education, saying education was designed during the colonial time and that should change as the world had revolved.
Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, a senior lecturer at UTG said education is very important in human development, saying Gambia’s Constitution has made it mandatory for every child to have access to primary education. “The country have failed as a nation to invest in teachers.”
