The trial of Nanama Keita, former Daily Observer Sports Editor, failed to proceed yesterday at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Tabally.

When the case was called, Cadet ASP Manneh announced his representation for the prosecution, and told the court that he was holding brief for Superintendent Joof.

He added that the police prosecutor had told him to apply for an adjournment on his behalf, since all efforts are under way to secure the apprehension for the accused person.

The case was then adjourned to 10th October 2011.

The alleged offence stated that the accused person, Nanama Keita, in May 2011 in Banjul, presented a petition letter to the Office of the President at State House, claiming wrongful dismissal as the deputy editor-in-chief and head of the sports desk, as well as financial malpractice by the managing director of the Daily Observer company.
