Spanish medical team of philanthropic doctors; Mojeres sin Fronteras and Amigos
De Gambia are currently offering a week of free medical service and surgical
operation to the community of Brikama and Sanyang.
The 35 medical volunteers, with different specialisation in the field of health are expected to provide free of charge medical service delivery to patients inspected with special sicknesses.
Head of medical team Jose Luis said the two team of medical doctors have decided to work together in providing free and quality medical service delivery to Gambians to enhance their health conditions.
He said more than 3 million dalasis was mobilised to facilitate the purchasing and importation of all the needed medical equipment and drugs to ease the free health care delivery for the people.
He mentioned that in March and June, another team of medical doctors and surgeons are expected in the country to offer another free health service for the people. “We are proud as medical volunteers to cater free health service to the community of Sanyang and Brikama. This is not the first time in the community and we hope to continue the same with the communities we are working with,” He said.
Tida Kinteh, officer in charge of Sanyang health center said offering free medical health service to her people will help increase the advancement of the community’s health sector.
She said medical equipment and drugs that are brought by the team to provide a better health provision for the people of the community will also increase the experience of the local nurses as they will be expose to some brand new equipment.
