At an awareness sensitisation seminar of 50 Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) personnel on harmful effects of open defecation, Modou Njie said ending the open defecation campaign couldn’t be achieved without engaging colleagues from the security forces.
The seminar was funded by UNICEF-Gambia office and held at the second infantry battalion in Farafenni.
Mr. Njie reaffirmed the Health Ministry’s commitment to foster relationship with The Gambia Armed Forces to help end open defecation. He said since the establishment of the unit in 2013, they have been advocating for the ending of the decades long open defecation, saying his unit and GAF intend to celebrate open defecation this year.
