Gambia international Modou Secka Barrow last Thursday donated cash of D50, 000 to Serekunda East Mini-Stadium committee. The gesture is meant to help in sustaining the East Park and for the Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) to renovate the community’s mini-stadium as the ‘Nawettan’ sets to commence.
Mo Barrow; as he is fondly called is a Gambian professional player who plays for Reading Football Club in the English Championship.
Speaking during the handing over, Modou Barrow’s PR officer Modou Lamin Beyai said the amount from will help the new executive of the Serekunda East Committee in their quest to develop the mini-stadium.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Serekunda East Committee, the PRO of the Serekunda East Committee, Alkali Jammeh thanked Modou Barrow and his team for the wonderful and timely gesture, adding that this gesture would serve as a springboard for the committee to kick-start their renovation in the mini-stadium.
He said the new Serekunda East Committee came with the aim and intention to develop the community’s playing ground, adding that in their management, there will be transparency.
