The Super Cup final will commence the Serekunda East Nawettan season for the 2019 season.
As winners, Milan Rose were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize of D20, 000, while the Runners-up Rangers FC was given a consolation prize of D15, 000.
Speaking in an interview with reporters shortly after the game, Sang Mendy, Coach of Milan Rosennerri said he was happy for winning the super cup final, adding that this is not the first time of winning trophies in Serekunda East despite not been an old team in the Serekunda East Nawettan football. “As we lost the Super Cup final in 2013, our fans have tasked me and the entire team to win this curtain raiser if not, I will be sacked,” he said.
According to him, they would have finished the Rangers in the game but thanked his players for winning to save his position as the head coach of the team.
Modou Lamin Manneh, gaffer for Rangers FC said it never feels good to be a loser, adding that they prepared very well and did all they could both technically and tactically but luck did not come on their side.
