local organisation committee of The Gambia Bankers Association last week
briefed journalists on their 4th Annual Bankers day, schedule on 26th October,
at Paradise Suite Hotel.
Chairman of the organising committee, Alex Alansan Gomez, who also doubles as Trust Bank Gambia limited head of marketing and sales disclosed that the day is set aside by the Gambia Banker Association to come together and share their common goals and reflect on some of their constraints, challenges and achievements.
According to him, the event is expected to be graced by representatives from financial institutions, commercial banks, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Central Bank of The Gambia and Microfinance Institution among others.
Mr Gomez lamented on the significance attached to the day and highlighted that the occasion will serve as a forum that will bring together all the stakeholders in the banking sector, government and other financial institutions and the general public to informally interact and be abreast with the association’s activities and achievements.
‘‘During the celebration, deserving students who successfully completed the Association’s chartered institution of bankers will be awarded with certificates,” he said, adding that individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the Association and the institute will also be honored with certificates for their meritorious services.
