Community of Brikama and surrounding have commended Masta Lion Promotion
Charity Foundation for refurbishing Brikama Community Radio Station (FMB)
alongside a donation of studio equipment, including a mixer, two voice
recorders, three mics and four earphones.
Chief executive officer of the Foundation, Muhammed Lamin Touray said improving the standard of the radio station has been part of his plans.
He explained that when he came to Brikama FMB radio during one of his holidays in the country, he felt bad when he saw the condition of the studio and that motivated him to give a helping hand.
He promised that he and his team will ensure that the radio station is fully transformed into a modern radio standard where listeners can tune in even outside of The Gambia.
Mr. Touray called on the people of Brikama, particularly those in the Diaspora to come and support the radio for the best interest of the community. “If Brikama people in the Diaspora come together, they can even build a television station.”
Alieu K. Darboe, Kembujeh ward councilor and a member of the Foundation said the donated equipment will burst the standard of the radio because these are materials radio stations need to produce quality programmes.
Mr. Darboe said the Foundation have been supporting the community of Brikama, saying during the month of Ramadan, they distributed bags of sugar to various wards in Brikama.
Chief of the Kombo Central Jammeh KK Bojang said the Foundation has been supporting different areas like education, health and youth.
Chief Bojang called on FMB staff to take good care of the equipment that has being given to them because this radio serve as a mouthpiece for the community.
