Man Sentenced for Stealing

The Brikama Magistrates' Court presided by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh has recently sentenced one Lamin Camara to two weeks imprisonment following the accused's guilty plea to theft.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused on the 11th of May 2009 at Brikama Nyambai entered into the house of one Lolley Ceesay and stole her mobile phone mark Sony Ericson, valued at D2500.

Magistrate Jammeh adjudged that it is always wrong and illegal to break into someone else's house and steal there. He said that the accused did show remorse and therefore sentenced him accordingly to two weeks mandatory jail term.
