Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one
Alieu Jawo to a fine of D2,000 in default to serve six months in prison.
Jawo, who was convicted for assault causing grievous bodily harm, was also ordered to pay a compensation of D3,000 in default to serve another six months in prison.
According to the charge sheet read in court, the convict, Alieu Jawo, on 1 January 2015 at Bakau in the Kanifing Municipality, assaulted one Yankuba Saidy with a knife on his neck and all over his body, thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.
