Man Jailed For Wounding

Magistrate Lamin George of the Bundung Magistrates' Court, recently convicted and sentenced one Malick Taal, to two years in prison for wounding a person.

He was also ordered to pay a compensation of D10,000 to the complainant, in default to serve another one year in prison.

According to the particulars of offence, the convict Malick Taal, on 23rd July 2009, at Tabokoto wounded one Andrew Sambou by stabbing him with a knife on his stomach.

When the charge sheet was read to him, he pleaded guilty and upon his own plea of guilt to the offence he was accordingly sentenced.
