Man in dock for Gamcel theft

One Amadou Jallow was on Thursday 21 September 2017, arraigned before principal magistrate Omar Cham of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a theft charge, contrary to the laws of The Gambia.

The prosecution alleged that the accused on 17 September 2017, at the Banjul International Airport, broke into the Gamcel warehouse and stole 33 TRN machines, valued at D49, 500, being properties of Gamcel.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted court bail in the sum of D150, 000, with two Gambian sureties.

The sureties shall depose to an affidavit of means and surrender the originals of their I.D. Cards or International Passport with the Registrar of the court.

Hearing continues on 5 October 2017.
