Man in Court for Alleged Fraud

One Babucarr Sanyang was dragged to the corridors of Justice at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court alleged to have attempting to receive money by false pretence contrary to the laws of the country.

According to the circumstances of the charged, the accused Mr. Sanyang in the month of September and October 2008, at Serrekunda in The Gambia with intend to defraud obtained from one Matty Jagne the sum of 3000 Euro cash and obstensibly adduced that the said money will be return within three days, the representation of which he knew to be false.

Upon reading the charged sheet to the accused at the Kanifing Magistrates Court presided by Magistrate B. Mahoney, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Meanwhile the accused was granted bail in the sum of D50, 000 with one Gambian surety with the large amount.

The case was adjourned for hearing and Daddy Rose represented the IGP.
