Man awaits sentence for allegedly abducting, defiling teenager

Presiding Magistrate S.M.Jallow of the Basse Magistrates’ Court has adjourned the criminal trial involving one Wurri Jallow for conviction and sentencing.

The court’s decision came in the wake of the accused person’s plea of guilty to two counts of abduction and defilement of a 14-year old girl without her consent.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) was represented by Sgt 3577 Kebbeh and the prosecution alleged that the accused on 8 December 2017 at Basse town abducted the 14 year old against the will of her parents.

The prosecution further alleged that the accused on 8 December 2017 at Basse town willfully and unlawfully had a carnal knowledge of the 14 year old girl.

Presiding magistrate Jallow ordered that the accused be remanded in custody pending his conviction and sentence and the matter was adjourned to 18 December 2017.
