A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Alagba of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and threatening violence.
Sambunjang Singhateh denied the charges and was granted court bail of D100,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.
The charge sheet on count one stated that on 30 August 2011, at Bakau Farakono, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Sambunjang Singhateh, assaulted one Sainey Singhateh by blowing him with a fist on his mouth and as a result, broke his tooth, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.
The particulars of the offence on count two read that on the same place and date, with intent to insult, intimidate and annoy one Sainey Singhateh and Suwareh Balajoh, threatened to kill them with a stick and thereby committed an offence.
Hearing continues on 13 September 2011.
