Madina Salam embarks on cleaning exercise

Wards in Madina Salam in Kombo South have recently conducted joint cleaning exercise (setsetal) with the community to protect the people from environmental hazards and illnesses.

This exercise is an annual activity in which community members conduct the voluntary service as part of their efforts in the prevention of Malaria and other health threats.

 Alkalo Sisaho Touray said the villagers are well committed to their well-being and protection from environmental hazards.

Ndey Touray, a nurse midwife at the Wonder Years Centre of Excellence (WYCE) clinic, thanked the community’s VDC and WYCE for their effort towards the village.

She said environmental sanitation is important and will help in the prevention of many health threats like malaria, saying cleaning the environment can save people from waste chemicals and hazardous injures.

Sarjo Saidy, the VDC chairman thanked members of the community for their service in the development of the community.
