Making
a Difference Foundation (MAD Foundation) a charitable organisation has donated
a 40 foot container to a sister organisation called Gam-UK Foundation in The
Gambia. The gesture was meant to provide assistance to the needy people in The
Gambia thus to improve the living condition of the people.
Speaking
at the presentation, the president of the foundation, Danny Berwick said they
support the Gambian people through Gam-UK Foundation whose primary aims are to
create skill for young people to be employable. ‘‘We have been providing
assistant to Gambians and we will continue to do that as far as we exist,’’
said President Danny Berwick.
Mr.
Berwick recalled that in November 2017, his foundation has supported the Gam-UK
Foundation with reusable materials and office rent for a duration of three
months, all aimed at empowering the said foundation to be able to run their
skills center to enable them provide skill for the young people in the country.
In addition, he said that MAD over the years has been supporting health and
education sectors of this country in many ways, with all gear towards improving
the lives and the livelyhood of the citizenry. The two vice presidents Mickeal Beard and Jane Jellow are the main sponsors.
In
receiving the gesture, the CEO of the Gam-UK Foundation, Alhagi F. S. Sora expressed profound gratitude to
the president and the vice president of the MAD Foundation for what he
described as a good will gesture.
Mr.
Sora described the donors as good friends of The Gambia and Africa at large,
saying this has been manifested in recent times.
The
CEO acknowledges that if not the intervention of the Mad Foundation, his
foundation would not have been operating a skills center today.
