President
Macky Sall will pay a two-day working visit to Banjul as part of the
Senegal-Gambia Presidential Council.
This
council was set up during the official visit to Senegal, which His Excellency
Adama Barrow, president of the Republic of The Gambia, carried out in Senegal
from 2 to 04 March 2017.
This
decision, as specified in the Final Communiqué, this visit is part of the
reinforcement of “axes of cooperation between Senegal and The Gambia with the
aim of making it a model of fraternal, lasting, trusting and mutually
beneficial partnership”.
According
to diplomatic sources, in addition to the talks between the two heads of state,
the first edition of this Presidential Council to be held from 11 to 13 March
2018 in Banjul, will focus on bilateral issues of common interest. President
Macky Sall will meet various personalities, including members of the Senegalese
community.
