Pa Dodou Jagne of MacDonald expressed delights for the Banjul curtain raiser final, saying it wasn’t an easy game but thanked God for emerging victorious.
Jamesen head coach Yusupha Drammeh said he was pleased with the performance of his players, despite losing the game, adding that he was also happy for making it a well contested game as they won through penalty shootout
As winners, MacDonald United were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize of D12, 000, while Jamesen pocketed a consolation prize of D10, 000
The curtain raiser, which was solely sponsored by Rohey Malick Lowe, the Mayoress of Banjul City Council (BBC) is meant to kick start the Banjul Nawettan season.
As part of her support and benevolence to the young people of Banjul, Mayoress Lowe also paid for the registration fee of all the Banjul proper Nawettan teams.
