On Saturday, Maccassa eliminated Cannon FC out of the league cup tournament after a 2-1 score-line. Maccassa were earlier defeated 2-0 by Leeds United in this tournament but ha an appeal accepted by the SESDO committee after Leeds United featured a player who was suspended following a three consecutive yellow-cards.
Cannon FC now ended their Nawettan season at Serrekunda East after been eliminated in both trophies, while Maccassa FC has only this tournament to compete for after been eliminated in knockout competition.
Elsewhere, on Friday, the Abuko based-team, Falcons also beat Ranger FC 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the regulation time.
Falcons FC are both in the league and knockout competitions following their triumphs in both tournaments, while Rangers FC have their Nawettan ended after been defeated earlier in the knockout tournament.
The Bokoteh based-team Milan Rosseneri Thursday eliminated London United after a 5-4 marathon post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the regulation period.
Milan Rosseneri are both into league and knockout tournaments, while London United have only the knockout tournament to compete for.
