hopes were shattered after London City beat them by a lone goal on Saturday in
the ongoing Banjul nawetan qualifier.
Both teams keenly contested the game but the City Boys took the lead in the 10th minute of the first half courtesy Ousainou Touray. Coming from the locker room, Juventus striker Modou Gaye repeatedly kept sending threatening balls to London goalkeeper in search for an equalizer but none found the back of the net.
Alieu Dahaba of London City was sent-off by central referee Famara Kujabi in 57th minute for unsporting behavior.
Juventus were awarded a penalty when Antony Badjie handled the ball inside the box but Modou Gaye’s spot-kick was denied by the goal post in the 75th minute. Five minutes later, Juventus goalkeeper Modou Jammeh was also sent-off for handling the ball outside the eighteen-yard box.
The defeat means Juventus will hang their boots till next year’s nawetan qualifiers.
