The
Late Modou Janneh Memorial intermediate biggest football fray season curtain
raiser - the Super Cup final - is slated for the third day of Koriteh 2016, at
the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.
The
much-awaited Super Cup final, which will feature league champions Buckingham FC
and knockout champions Young Santos FC, is described by many football admirers
in Gunjur and its environs as the clash of the giants.
This
year’s Super Cup will be the fourth meeting of both sides in the Late Modou
Janneh Memorial intermediate football tournament; the based outfit won their
three previous meetings.
Buckingham
FC beat Manchester United on penalties to lift the league title, and will be
preparing for revenge against Young Santos FC to clinch the Super Cup title
after losing to the Santos-based outfit 2-1 in the knockout final last season.
Young
Santos FC defeated Buckingham FC 2-1 to claim the knockout title last season,
and will be going all out to beat Buckingham FC to retain their Super Cup
crown.
