Gambia Football Federation Event Management Committee vice chairman retired General Lang Tombong Tamba Tuesday left Banjul for Cotonou, Benin ahead of the country’s 2019 Africa U-20 Youth Championship qualifiers second leg with the Young Squirrels this Sunday.

Mr. Tamba will visit facilities such as training grounds and accommodation before the Young Scorpions’ arrival in Cotonou on Thursday for their decisive second leg encounter with the Young Squirrels.

The Gambia beat Benin 2-1 in the first leg tie in Banjul over the weekend and need only a draw to advance to the second round of the qualifiers.

Benin must beat to The Gambia at least 1-0 in the second leg on Sunday in Cotonou to stay in the qualifiers after losing to the Young Scorpions 2-1 in the first leg in Banjul over the weekend.
