Principal
Magistrate Omar Cham of the lower court in Banjul on 5 May 2016 convicted and
sentenced Lang Conteh, former Kanilai Family Farms Manager, to two-year imprisonment
with hard labour.
Mr Conteh was further ordered by the court to pay restoration as per the allegation, based on the Criminal Code (CPC), failure to do which he would serve another year in prison with hard labour.
The charge sheet against him stated that Lang Conteh, sometime between 2012 and 2013 in Banjul, stole D1,538,804.95 being the property of Kanilai Family Farms, and thereby committed an offence.
