Lady Convicted for Assault

Magistrate B.O. Jobe of the Bundung Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced one Fatou Ndow after she was found guilty for assault causing actual bodily harm.

She was fine D1000 in default to serve three months in prison. She was also ordered to compensate the victim in the sum of D2500 in default to serve another six months in prison.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 24th October 2008, at New Jeshwang, the convict Fatou Ndow wilfully and unlawfully assaulted one Oumie Kalley by hitting her with a stone on her ribs and thereby causing her actual bodily harm.

Following her admission to the charge, she was convicted and sentenced accordingly.
