The 2015 Kombo South District football tournament re-scheduled final between Kartong and Tanji is set for Sunday 15 November 2015, at the Sanyang Football Field at 4:30 p.m.

The final was re-scheduled after the first final game failed to produce a clear winner in regulation time at the Sanyang Football Field last month.

Sunday’s final will be the third appearance of Kartong in the Kombo South district biggest football fiesta after they lost to Sanyang 2-0 in the final in 2000 played at the Jambajelly Football Field before losing to Farato on penalties in the 2008 final game played at the Gunjur Upper Basic School football field, following the regulation time which finished goalless.

The Folonko boys beat Tujereng 7-6 on penalties, after the regulation time ended goalless in the semifinal.

They will be preparing for a win against beach boys to clinch their first-ever Kombo South district football tournament title after losing to Sanyang and Farato in the final in 2000 and 2008 respectively.

Sunday’s final will be the second appearance of Tanji in the Kombo South district biggest football fray after losing to Sifoe 1-0 in the 2014 Kombo South district football tournament final played at the Jambanjelly Football Field.

The beach boys defeated Nyofelleh in the semifinal to progress to the final and will be striving for a victory against Folonko boys to claim their first-ever Kombo South district biggest football gala title.

The kick-off, expected to be taken by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Alieu K. Jammeh, will be witnessed by the president of the Gambia Football Federation, Lamin Kabba Bajo, and other dignitaries.
