Sillah Association, an association formed by Gunjurians in the Diaspora, on
Saturday presented a cheque for D100, 000 to Gunjur Health Centre for the
extension of the health centre’s Maternity unit.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Health Centre grounds in Gunjur, Badara Bajo, president of Gunjur Development Association, said Kombo Sillah Association has been contributing towards the development of Gunjur Health Centre.
He added that Gunjur Development Association and Kombo Sillah Association would work hand in glove for the development of Gunjur.
Speaking on behalf of Kombo Sillah Association in UK, Lawyer Lamin J. Darboe, said Kombo Sillah Association is a registered charitable organisation formed by Gunjurians in the Diaspora.
He noted they raised funds through membership contributions and fund raising.
Darboe applauded all those who attended the presentation ceremony.
Lamin S. Darboe, chief of Kombo South returned gratitude to Kombo Sillah Association in UK for donating to the health centre aimed at the extension the maternity unit of Gunjur Health Centre.
Chief Darboe also hailed Kombo Sillah Association for their timely support, adding that he was proud of Kombo Sillah Association in UK for the support.
Karamo Jorang Bojang, Councilor of Gunjur Ward, appealed to both Kombo Sillah Association and Gunjur Development Association to be united for the development of Gunjur.
Bojang lauded Kombo Sillah Association for the timely gesture.
Hon. Kebba K. Barrow, National Assembly Member for Kombo South Constituency, said Kombo Sillah Association has been supportive to the development of the village.
Hon. Barrow in expressing gratitude was also happy to be associated with Kombo Sillah Association for their support in extending the Gunjur Health Centre Maternity unit.For her part, Haddy Fadera, nursing officer in charge of Gunjur Health Centre, lauded Kombo Sillah Association for the support.
