Kombo North District chief last Thursday met with ‘alkalolu’ of the district at his Sukuta residence where they discussed issues crucial to their development.

Speaking at the meeting, chief Momodou L.K. Bojang called on the village authorities to always fear Allah and tell the truth to one another.

He appealed to them to work closely together and to always remind their people to unite as one people. He also reminded them that trivial matters like tribalism and hatred are things that can divide them within the district.

Chief Bojang also warned any Alkalo involved in forging illegal documents, stamps and signatures to desist from it, saying such acts are leading to several land disputes in the country. “You have to protect documents with your lives and stop using your children to sign documents for you. Be always sure what kind of document you are signing or stamping.”

Juldeh Bah, Alkalo of Youna village commended chief Bojang for the initiative and the encouraging remarks.

He advised his fellow Alkalos to be careful in issuing national documents to people and appealed to the government to be encouraging Alkalos.

Salieu Ceesay, Alkalo of Sinchu Alagie said more of such educative gatherings will help lessen problems and misunderstandings among Alkalos and communities.
