KMC school cricket league kicks off

Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) cricket league for the first time in the history of cricket in the country on Tuesday 7 March 2017 got underway.

The tournament brought together nine schools with Serrekunda East KMC with Mauritania Lower Basic School taking on Serekunda East Lower Basic School (Annex) at the Serekunda East Mini Stadium.

Mauritania Lower Basic School won by 94 Runs with M. Jallow who batted and scored 47 runs being named man of the match.

 On Wednesday 8 March, Latrikunda Lower Basic School (Annex) Played Tallinding Lower Basic School on the same ground.

Tallinding Lower Basic School won by 4 runs and 7 wickets. Salifu Bah who batted and scored 25 runs was named man of the match.

In the Banjul Lower Basic School female round robbing cricket tournament on Tuesday 7 March 2017 Albion Lower Basic School played Campama Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square Cricket grounds in Banjul.

 Albion Lower Basic School won by 58 runs. Ndey J. Cham who batted and scored 18 runs was named man of the match.

This weekend in the senior GPL Gambia Ports Authority will play Teachers XI in the semifinal to take place at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.
