Gambian international Kebba Ceesay has signed the Swedish top flight side IK Sirius after his former club Dalkurd FF were relegated to the Swedish Allsvenskan second division. The 30 years old defender, who in the last two seasons belongs to Dalkurd FF.has signed a three year s contract with Blasvart . His performance haven’t gone unnoticed despite the term struggling for form and have led to Sirius to make swoop for free agent player
“Kebba is a fast and physical defense player with lot of experience both from Sweden and abroad. He has a great passion and courage in his game which I think will contribute a lot to us. Just the speed is great when you want to play an aggressive football,” Kim Bergstrand wrote on the club’s official website.
The veteran defender played seven seasons in Djurgarden on the qualifying list and four years as a foreign pro in Polish Lech Poznan. He started his career in IK Brage and made two U21 national teams for Sweden before becoming a national team game for The Gambia.
Now he chooses Sirius as his next club address
“I have had several other options but I really enjoy staying in Uppsala and would love to stay here. When I talked to Kim, I got a good picture of him, the club and the way they work here. Sirius has impressed me with the way you turned this season,” Ceesay said.
The Gambian defender who plays both on one edge and centrally in the back line said: “I will help speed up there, but I do not want to talk so much about myself. This is a team sport, it will be great fun to come to Sirius and I look forward to getting started and meeting the team in January.”
Ceesay, a former Sweden U21 international and capped 11 times for The Gambia, started his career in 2005 featuring for IK Brage, Djurgårdens IF, Vasalunds IF and Lech Poznan.
