Kartong on Saturday beat debutants Gunjur Kunkujang 4-1 at the Jambanjelly Football Field to salvage their lead in the 2013-2014 late Kajali Badjie and late Ismaila Nyassi Kombo South District Football Tournament.

Kartong, who beat Batokunku 1-0 in their opening group A game played at the Sifoe Football Field a fortnight ago, dominated the entire game, created numerous goal-scoring opportunities and managed to notch in four exceptional goals to snatch a resounding win over the debutants and whipping Gunjur Kunkujang side.

The debutants Gunjur Kunkujang were unable to contain Kartong throughout the game and as a result they conceded four goals and managed to pull one, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for them.

Gunjur Kunkujang now need to win their remaining group A games to boost their hopes of reaching the quarterfinal as well as keeping their chances of winning the tournament after losing to Kartong 4-1 in their group A encounter played at the weekend.

Gunjur Kunkujang are currently languishing in group A with zero point in one game, while Kartong are leading group A with maximum 6 points in two games and will be expecting to win their remaining group A games to maintain their hundred percent record in the tournament.
