Karpowership donates food supply worth D500, 000 to Gambian families

Karpowership Gambia, a charitable organisation last Thursday donated food items, including bags of rice and sugar worth five hundred thousand dalasi to two hundred Gambian families including boarding schools.

The gesture was delivered at the Karpowership office along Kairaba Avenue, where the project manager Yankuba Mamburay emphasised their caring and sharing believe, especially with the disadvantaged Gambians.

Mr. Mamburay said this is the first anniversary of the Charity since its creation in May 2018, saying they are committed to the development of Gambian communities and supporting people.

He said their activities are based on matters of social responsibility by assisting people and uplifting their standard, by means of providing more projects for them. “Karpowership and NAWEC will continue to fix issues of electricity until The Gambia start to enjoy uninterrupted power supply.”

Kebba Bojang, one of the beneficiaries said he is delighted for the gesture and assured that they will make the best use of them, saying the donated items are costly to purchase during Ramadan.
