goal to nil to lift their first Kafuta Sport Development Association super cup
Mbemba Kujabi scored the lone goal of the game for Kaira FM Baduma United in the 16th minute from a well-executed free kick.
As winners, Kaira FM Baduma United went home with a trophy and an undisclosed cash prize. Abdoulie Kujabi, head coach of Kaira FC Baduma United expressed delight with the win, saying his team could have scored more than a single goal in the encounter.
He expressed confidence of winning the league title for the third year running. He called on all to unite and join hands for the development of sport in the community.
He thanked fans for their continuous support.
Musa Kanteh, head coach of Bajo’s FC said they were pleased the game was played peacefully. He added that they were unfortunate to end up on the losing side and have taken it in good faith. “We created better chances but my strikers are young and lack experience”, he point out.
Coach Kanteh said his target for the season is to win both the league and knockout titles.
Emmanuel Correa, Chairman Kafuta Sport Development Association said the reason for the final being played peacefully without any state security was as a result of the village’s togetherness as well as team’s trust and respect towards the sport committee.
He noted that among their challenges is sponsorship, adding that sometimes when teams lose they vent their anger towards the committee or referees.
He expressed their readiness to upgrade their football ground.
