golfer Pa Famara Jatta alias JJ has emerged winner of the 2019 Ryder Golf Cup
played at the Fajara golf course.
JJ was declared winner after beating Dodou Kassama in the play offs. Both players finished the competition with a score of 70.
The annual tournament was organized and co-sponsored by Ram Mohan, Chairman of Fajara Club. Other sponsors were Best Water, Vineyard and ComAfrique.
As winner of the professional category, JJ received a cash prize of D6, 000. Runner up Dodou Kassama pocketed home a cash amount of D3, 000. Alhaji Drammeh took third position with a score of 71 and was rewarded with a cash prize of D2, 000 and Edi Jammeh occupied fourth place with a score of 72 and received D1, 000. Edi also walked home with the longest drive prize of a 25kg bag of rice.
In the caddies category, Santos Jarju came out winner and pocketed home a cash prize of D2, 000. Jamil Sanneh secured second position and received D1, 500 and was followed by Nfansu Drammeh on third position and received D700.
Appo Tamba came out fourth and was awarded a cash prize of D500 while Yusupha Jammeh finished fifth position and received D300.
In addition to the cash prizes, all winners were rewarded with a solar light worth D1500. Field workers and the caddy master were also rewarded with a cash amount of D5000.
In the amateur category of the tournament, team Great Britain and Ireland emerged winners while the rest of the world finished runners up. All winners were also awarded certificates.
