Jammeh removes three ministers in major reshuffle

President Yahya Jammeh has relieved three cabinet ministers of their appointment in a major cabinet reshuffle announced on Monday.

Energy minister Tenengba Jaiteh, higher education, research, science and technology minister Dr Momodou Tangara and transport, works and infrastructure Francis Liti Mboge have all been relieved, a news release from the presidency said.

The release also announced that Dr Momodou Tangara will be redeployed to the foreign service.

In the same vein, the dispatch announced that President Jammeh has redeployed Mr Bala Garba Jahumpa to the ministry of transport, works and infrastructure as minister and appointed Mr Omar Sey as minister of Health and Social Welfare and National Assembly matters with immediate effect.

The portfolio of minister of higher education, research, science and technology, and energy are now under the purview of the office of the president.
