Jaingol downs Gaindeh in wrestling combat

Jaingol of club Abuko Mbolo Sunday defeated Gaindeh of club Kebba Jome in a grand combat held at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

The Club Abuko Mbolo wrestler Jaingol, who lost to Gaindeh in a combat in 2017, came for revenge and succeeded by beating club Kebba Jome wrestler in 1:46 seconds.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the contest, Jaingol said he was physically and mentally prepared for the bout, adding that defeating Gaindeh was not a surprise to him. He said the victory was a revenge, saying Gaindeh defeated him in 2017.

Both wrestlers promised victory to make their fans happy during a face-to-face talk show prior to their grand combat over the weekend. The bout brought together thousands of wrestling followers across Greater Banjul Area and its environs.

Staged by Saloum Promotion, the contest also featured eight other bouts before grand combat between the country’s two heavy-weights wrestlers. It was also attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Hadrammeh Sidibeh and many other officials.
