Fashion Designs will present the first edition of “GoudiRabbal’’ the Night of
African Weaves with the content of an exhibition and a fashion night. The event
is slated for this Saturday at the Joint Officers Mess in Kotu.
The chief executive officer Abdoulie Jagne explained to the Point Entertainment and Lifestyle about his plans and dreams in developing fashion and design in The Gambia. “The main objective of “GoudiRabbal’’ is to showcase the quality to measure and the need for change in style, taste and trends in African fabric fashion.’’
He said the event will also promote and encourage the talent of fashion designers in Gambian fashion industry.
Mr. Jagne said the it is also a non-money making event as strictly invitation will be in order with blood donation to save lives as one of the main agenda of the event as they intend to partner with the Ministry of Health and other Ministries.
Jagne Fashion Designs is a workshop with a brand name J.F Designs using African fabric to design African, European and Asian outfits.
Abdoulie Jagne is a professional and experience fashion designer for the past two decades while taking the responsibility to train and inspire young Gambians and other nationalities within the fashion industry.
His main objective is to create job opportunities for the local people and to participate in local and international fashion forums to gain publicity and help the young talents.
Jagne Fashion Designs is dreaming to showcase skills in the future and to initiate a skills training centre that will support young talents by training them to become creative, using the African fabric to design and Sew (ready to wear) e.g. wrappers, evening/casual wears, weeding dresses, office wears, hand bags, shoes, belts, bed sheets, pajamas, skirts, shirts, window curtains, table cloth, and even swimming costumes.
