Excellency President Barrow is in Dubai to attend the Global Investment Forum
and the 4th Annual CROSAPF Summit.
We are pleased to know that the president is also part of a panel of three African Heads of State to discuss Investment Opportunities in Africa.
Indeed this is an opportunity for The Gambia in particular and Africa in general.
We especially The Gambia are so in need of development that we cannot afford to let any opportunity of such nature elude us.
Lucrative investment is a breeding ground for economic and industrial growth as well as for job creation among other development fundamentals in nation building.
So we are expecting our president to take advantage of this opportunity and make the most of it as our new Gambia and her economy is in dire need of growth and development to create more jobs, alleviate poverty and improve human living standards in our nation.
As we are a nation in search of development, we should always go in for long lasting investments that could sustain our economy to ensure a stable macro-economy driven by growth strategy that will diversify the economic base and strengthen our GDP – Gross Domestic Product.
There are so many investment opportunities in The Gambia aside from the fact that it is one of the most peaceful countries in Africa with close proximity to many countries in the West African sub-region from Europe and other Western nations of the world.
Our agriculture, health and energy sectors among other sectors of our economy are veritable grounds for lucrative investments. We are sure President Barrow, being the leader of our nation, together with his entourage (which we want to believe include officials of GIEPA and GCCI – Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency and the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry) would seize every opportunity at the Dubai Global Investment Forum to sell The Gambia as an investment destination with immense opportunities for foreign investors.
Our tourism industry also needs more impetus and growth to ever compete and present best options for tourists around the world who may want to visit Africa.
Therefore Asian as well as European tourists are also welcome to one of the safest destinations in the world, which offers a unique serenity found in no other destination within the confines of the region.
In the Smiling Coast of Africa (The Gambia), there is guaranteed sunshine all year round with excellent hotels and restaurants and beautiful ecotourism, which also serve as both tourism hubs and investment selling points for our nation.
We therefore wish our President a successful meeting in Dubai.
“Some opportunities come but once.”
