2018 Theme: NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US INCLUSION IS FOR EVERYBODY

About 1 billion people around the world live with a disability – that’s roughly 15 percent of our global population.

On December 3 each year we celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities A Day For All.

Organisation for Social Development and Inclusion for Persons With Disability for short OSDIVI is a non-profit social organisation that sets out to cooperate with the vulnerable groups more especially the disables to create an all inclusive society where all will be empowered to live independent and dignified lives through enhancement programmes and lobbying for all inclusive policies that seeks to empower all regardless of other considerations such as disability, Gender etc.

The organisation on the 3rd December 2018 will be celebrating world disability day. The United Nations proclaimed this as a recognised day for the celebration of the achievements of people living with disabilities across the world. It is also a day upon which we promote awareness of the challenges faced by over 1 billion people living with disabilities, and the role communities and societies play in accelerating the eradication of barriers to social inclusion, equity, participation and citizenship. The period is commemorated to involve the society of the plight and needs of disable people and the way forward to create an all inclusive society where all will be fully engaged without other considerations like disability and other related issues being determinants to isolate and called upon the community to observe the day with ceremonies and activities to sensitise the public on the significance of persons with disability.
