Awards Night and Fashion Weekend.
Organisers have already promised a unique, successful and perfect event that no other rival event planners can close-up rank with.
Chief executive officer Sheriff Jammeh, said everything is now ready to start the event tonight, Friday and will be on until Sunday 30th June. He said events will include honouring and appreciating distinguished efforts of Gambian people, both home and abroad in their various areas of endeavor for their hard work and being role models to young petiole in communities.
Giving the background of the UK-Gambian Fashion Exhibition and Awards show, Jammeh explained that the three-day event is designed to portray the creativity in Gambia’s own fashion designers and their designs. He said the weekend event is split into various bits like entertainment – dance, music with combination of traditional performances, awards night, fashion runway and Gambian-UK Fashion Exhibition. “Gambia has diverse cultures and the various ethnic groups will be truly represented through language, food, dance, sound, and fashion.”
He said African fashion will continue to be the most vibrant of all, and The Gambia, with traces that encompass the cultures and traditions of surrounding countries such as Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Mali, represent a whole large amount of the proud rich fashion vigour of the sunshine continent.
Jammeh said no event organiser is threat to the Interface Gambia TV Awards and Exhibition Weekend, showing confident that the event will be successfully organised as it is not their first time. “They like to use the popularity of the Interface Gambia TV because of the huge successes of our past editions. Some of the event organizers have been looking for how to match up by organizing events on the same dates as ours.”
