In Sun Beach Hotel Case, Prosecution Witness to Be Recalled

Lawyer Martin, who is now representing Ousman Darboe, Kebba Ceesay, Basiru Sanneh, Famara Camara, Alhajie Alieu Jagne and Essa Nyassi, all employees of Sun Beach Hotel who were charged with assaulting the Chef of the hotel, told the court on Tuesday 31st March that he was just coming into the case and would like to familiarise himself with the testimony of the first prosecution witness and the charge sheet, in the interest of justice.

Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court granted the application and adjourned the case to the 14th April 2009 for the first prosecution witness to be cross-examined by the defence counsel.

It could be recalled that the six accused persons were first brought before Magistrate Mbake on the 5th March for allegedly assaulting the chef of the hotel, Ronaldo Delgreco, causing him actual bodily harm. All the accused persons have pleaded not guilty.
