In Brikama Nawetan: Yarambamba Academy edge pass African Light

Yarambamba Football Academy FC of Yundum Village beat African Light FC 4-3 on post-match penalty shootout to progress to the next round of the 2011-2012 Brikama Nawetan championship, after a 1-1 draw in the regulation time at the Brikama Box bar Mini-stadium at the weekend.

The game was dominated and controlled by African Light FC, but both teams created numerous goal-scoring chances, which were squandered.

The Academy boys opened the scoring through Brikama United’s prolific striker Musa Bojang in the 35th minute of the game from a superb strike to give his side the lead before Samba Fadera levelled the score for African Light FC in the 51st minute of the game from a clinical finish.

This pushed the game into a post-match penalty shootout, which ended 4-3 in favour of Yarambamba Football Academy of Yundum Village and the victory has sent them into the next round of the Brikama Nawetan championship at the expense of African Light.
