IACR Supports Constitutional Review Process

On the 29th day of November 2018, the Founder and President of the Institute for the Advancement of Children’s Rights (IACR) Barrister Malick H.B. Jallow presented a position paper on Juvenile Justice to the Chairperson of Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) Hon. Justice Cherno Sulayman Jallow during a presentation ceremony held at the secretariat of the commission.

The IACR document contains a comprehensive overview of the legal framework governing juvenile justice in The Gambia as well as recommendations for reform of constitutional and other related legal provisions. It is hoped that such a contribution would further enrich the debate on the formulation of a new constitution for The Gambia. IACR congratulates the CRC for its commendable initiative and is committed to providing support to timely and effective discharge of its mandate when required.

The Presentation ceremony was also attended by Aja Hawa Sisay Sabally,Vice Chair of the CRC, Omar Jobe, Executive Secretary of the CRC, Mr. Raymond Wally Sarr, Director of HR and Administration as well as other members of staff.
