Trinity have been crowned champions of the annual Anointed Reigning Mighty
Youths (ARMY) Christian knockout
football tournament after defeating Saint Anthony Parish 1-0 in the
final played at the Marina International Football Field in Fajara.
The tournament brought together nine Christian youths teams across the country for the annual football jamboree.
The much-anticipated final encounter attracted hundreds of spectators across Fajara and its satellite areas.
Bernard Sylva’s single strike was enough to secure the annual championship trophy for Holy Trinity Christian youth.
The annual football competition was organized to bring Christian youths together and also foster unity and understanding among them.
This year’s competition was bankrolled by the national GSM Operator Gamcel, TK Motors, Royal Insurance Limited and M&A Bureau De Change.
As champions, Holy Trinity went home with a giant trophy and cash prize of D5, 000 while Saint Anthony pocketed home a consolation of D2, 000.
Meanwhile, certificates were disbursed to all participating teams and sponsors.
