preparations are in high gear within the tourism industry area to celebrate the
New Year, Metzy Hotel; a four star hotel in the country would gather people at
the hotel premises to witness a spectacular fireworks with a live music
performance on New Year Eve on 31st December.
Musa Secka, chief executive officer of Metzy Hotel said two major events are lined up this year; one on 28 December which is going to be formal opening of the hotel by President Adama Barrow, Minister of Tourism and Culture and other senior government officials, NGOs, communities and hoteliers.
“We hope that it will be a successful event and among the activities for the programme will include a conducted tour of the facility and a cocktail reception.”
He said on 31st December, there will a New Year eve gala dinner with a lineup of food and drinks where people would choose what they want.
Mr. Secka said the main activity that people are looking at in the New Year eve is the fireworks. “So people can watch out and I can assure that this is going to be a spectacular fireworks that everyone will talk about. We are planning this event so that other people will take us seriously.”
Omar Darboe, general manager of Metzy hotel said the management plan to have a gala dinner for the New Year eve which would be a spectacular event with great fireworks and an international buffet that would cover everything that people need to have during the event. “Therefore, we are kindly inviting everyone in The Gambia to come and participate. Metzy is fabulous and being a new hotel, it is very good for every Gambian to grab the opportunity to come and experience Metzy style.”
